September 17, 2010 THRANE & THRANE STARTS SAILOR 500 FLEETBROADBAND ROLL-OUT FOR MAERSK LINE FLEET Thrane & Thrane announces that it has started delivery of 200 SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband terminals for implementation by Certified Partner, Polaris Electronics aboard the Maersk Line fleet. The roll-out follows shortly after A.P. Moller - Maersk signed a significant contract with Polaris Electronics for the supply of the terminals. Delivery completion is expected end October 2010. With the completion of this supply Thrane & Thrane has delivered a total of 370 SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband to A.P. Moller - Maersk. “SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband offers high performance and reliability backed up by our extensive global support network,” comments Casper Jensen, VP Maritime Business Unit, Thrane & Thrane. “Maersk Line vessels will benefit from a proven and best suited solution that is able to improve crew welfare, optimise day-to-day communication and operation regardless of location or environment.” As the flagship terminal in Thrane & Thrane's FleetBroadband portfolio, which also includes SAILOR 150 & 250 FleetBroadband, the SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband harnesses the full speed and power of Inmarsat's next generation service, making cost-effective, high quality internet browsing, email and voice communication possible on a global basis. Built to exacting SAILOR standards, SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband is reliable and built to last, and offers straightforward installation and maintenance. “Installation of the SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband terminals is inherently simple,” says Klavs Torp, Managing Director, Polaris Electronics. “We are supplying an installation pack with every terminal, enabling the vessel's engineers to conduct the work themselves. This approach has proved very efficient in the past with installation time as low as just 1 ½ hours aboard some vessels.” “SAILOR FleetBroadband is going from strength to strength,” comments Walther Thygesen, CEO, Thrane & Thrane. “This latest order with A.P. Moller - Maersk for Maersk Line vessels strengthens its position as the FleetBroadband terminal of choice within the commercial maritime market, having recently shipped our 12,000th unit since the launch of the FleetBroadband service in November 2007.” Ends For further information, please contact: Caper Jensen, VP Maritime Business Unit Thrane & Thrane A/S, Tel: +45 39 55 88 15 John Alexandersen, VP Corporate Communications & Investor Relations, Thrane & Thrane A/S, Tel: +45 39 55 88 35 www.thrane.com Press materials, images etc: Saul Trewern, Director, Saltwater Tel: +44 (0)1202 669244 Email: saul.trewern@saltwatercoms.com www.saltwaterpr.com About Thrane & Thrane Thrane & Thrane is the world's leading manufacturer of equipment and systems for global mobile radio and satellite communication.
