On September 25, 2010, Prof. Dr. Fritz Vahrenholt, Chairman of the
Executive Board of RWE Innogy GmbH; Essen, has resigned as a member of the
Supervisory Board of VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG due to possible
conflict of interests. Professor Vahrenholt sees particularly a
disagreement between the recently decided lifetime expansions of nuclear
power plants, he belongs to the supporter, and the publicity campaign
started by VERBIO named VERBIO will replace the first nuclear power plant
by Biogas in 2013.

The mandate of Professor Vahrenholt as Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory
Board would have been terminated in summer 2011. Management Board and
Supervisory Board would like to thank Professor Vahrenholt for his
commitment and his constructive support of the Company's development during
the past four years.

Dr.-Ing. Claus Meyer-Wulf has succeeded as substitute member.
