A notification about the Liepaja City Construction Authority Acceptance

Referring to the article published in the “Dienas Bizness” newspaper dated
September 27, 2010, JSC “Liepājas Metalurgs” confirms that the modernization of
the steel melting production operations is progressing in accordance with the
plan, and that Liepaja City Construction Authority has accepted the sketch
project, which allows the Company to receive the construction permit and begin
civil works. 
The above-mentioned steel melting production modernization is in an active
process in accordance with the article “About the JSC “Liepājas Metalurgs”
modernization program and its financing” published on the NASDAQ-OMX stock
exchange Internet homepage on July 2, 2010. The announcement informed that the
obtained financing would be used for the modernization of the steel melting
practices, by installing an electric arc furnace and ladle furnace with all the
required equipment supply, erection, civil works and necessary infrastructure
development.
