Narus to Expand Growth in Current and New Markets Through Ecosystem Development

New Business Development Executive to Lead Charge in Broadening Narus Cyber Ecosystem

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - October 19, 2010) -  Narus, the leader in real-time traffic intelligence for protecting governments, service providers and enterprises against cyber threats and the risks of doing business in cyber space, announced today intensified efforts to expand growth in current and new markets through the development of a complete cyber ecosystem. The Narus ecosystem for cyber security, comprised of strategic alliances, technical relationships, and partnerships with leading security companies and systems integrators, provides a holistic approach to cyber security using both loose and tight integration of complementary products and technologies. Narus' customers will benefit from a supplier that recognizes the need for multiple vendors and products working together to provide a layered approach to cyber security resulting in the most effective detection and mitigation.

The Narus ecosystem was designed as a new approach to address growing, more frequent and more devastating cyber attacks plaguing the world's largest critical networks and infrastructure. Realizing that no single company can possibly offer all the technology and services to cover the vast needs among all organizations, the Narus ecosystem is a network of alliances and partnerships with cyber security vendors whose complementary products provide a holistic approach to cyber security. The NarusInsight system, which relies on real-time traffic intelligence and analytics, can understand the changing behavior or "dynamic DNA" of geographically dispersed IP networks. By complementing existing signature-based approaches, for example, a more effective solution for defense-in-depth and enhanced situational awareness can be provided to government organizations, service providers and enterprises.

One recently announced partnership forged in the Narus ecosystem is with ArcSight (NASDAQ: ARST). As a certified ArcSight partner, Narus developed a "connector" to ArcSight enabling seamless integration between its NarusInsight system and the ArcSight Enterprise Threat and Risk Management (ETRM) platform (recently showcased at the ArcSight Protect 10 conference). Over the next several months, Narus will continue its work with other companies in the cyber and traffic management markets to offer its technology or partner in a technology alliance in order to bring a higher level of protection to its customers.

As part of the effort to build out its cyber ecosystem, Narus recruited Chee Tan as director of business development. In this role, Mr. Tan will draw on his 20 years' industry experience to focus on assembling the Narus ecosystem of partners as the company expands its functionality for customers and defines new revenue sources. Mr. Tan is an industry veteran with experience working in security, storage and networking for major corporations and startups alike in Silicon Valley. Prior to Narus, Mr. Tan was the Director of Business Development for GFI-Sunbelt Software, where he was responsible for growing worldwide OEM revenue and forging strategic business partnerships with technology vendors. He also held senior management positions at Trend Micro, ActivCard and Novell.

"We look forward to working with the other major industry players in providing a more comprehensive holistic approach to cyber security," said David Friedman, Chief Marketing Officer, Narus. "Our customers have requested this capability, and with the addition of Chee Tan, we have a solid team in place to work on integration and technical alliances that bring the power of NarusInsight to other platforms and market segments and address the end-to-end security expectations of our customers."
