Finnish Aviation Union to begin strike tomorrow

Both parties of the negotiations have rejected a conciliation proposal made on
Sunday by the National Conciliator Esa Lonka with respect to a new collective
agreement on air transport services. On Monday morning, 25 October at 5 a.m.
the IAU will begin a strike in companies providing aviation technical services.
The strike will disrupt Finnish flight traffic. The strike will also affect
Finnair flights.

Finnair will make every effort to operate normally, but delays and cancellations
are possible.

"It is difficult to assess the impact of the strike, because the situation of
flights can change at short notice. We sincerely apologise for any
inconvenience our
customers may experience," says SVP Customer Service Anssi Komulainen.

Customers are recommended to monitor the situation of their flights on Finnair's
information page at the internet address www.finnair.fi/info. The website
will show updates of the followings days' flight programme with possible
changes. Information can also be found on Finnair's Finnair Facebook page,
www.facebook.com/finnair.

If a flight is cancelled due to the strike, every effort will be made to reroute
passengers to their destination on other flights. We strongly recommend that
passengers pack essential items, such as medicines, travel documents and
keys, in hand baggage. Tickets for a cancelled flight will be refunded or the
flight departure can be transferred to another date up to 30 November 2010.

In case of cancellations or changes, we recommend that customers contact the
party that
sold the ticket.
