ALLDATA Introduces the Next Generation of ALLDATA(R) Repair(SM)

Newly Revised Repair Product Offers Several New Market-Leading Features Designed to Improve Shop Efficiencies

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 2, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ALLDATA LLC, the leading provider of vehicle manufacturers' service and repair information for professional repair shops, announces the release of ALLDATA® RepairSM S3000, the next generation of the market-leading ALLDATA Repair information product. ALLDATA Repair S3000 introduces several new features aimed at improving efficiencies and performance.

"The automobile has changed drastically over the past several years resulting in a far more complex vehicle," explains Ben Johnson, ALLDATA Senior Product Marketing Manager. "With sophisticated electronic and interdependent systems, there is, naturally, a greater need for more advanced repair information. Because ALLDATA adds more than a million pages of data per year to its databases, there is an increased need for faster search capabilities and simplicity in navigation. The new search feature offers the user an easy-to-use alternative to conventional table-of-contents-style navigation."

ALLDATA Repair S3000 searches ALLDATA's entire database of repair information for any phrase relative to a specific vehicle. The results yield a much greater amount of relevant information than previous versions of the software. ALLDATA Repair S3000 is a direct response to an evolving aftermarket repair environment. Today's ever-changing array of vehicles requires highly skilled technicians with access to sophisticated, detailed data. The ALLDATA Repair S3000 search function will return all appropriate information, including: technical service bulletins (TSBs), component locations, diagnostic articles and more. Additionally, searches can be easily filtered by information type.

Another new feature of ALLDATA Repair S3000 allows multiple articles to display simultaneously. Users can navigate through the product, "pinning" articles along the way to keep them open and accessible. "To work effectively, multiple articles may be used during a diagnostic or repair procedure," says Johnson. "Take diagnostic trouble codes, for example. It is not unusual to need the actual diagnostic article, associated TSBs, wiring diagrams, component locations and other relevant articles. The advanced features in ALLDATA Repair S3000 will allow the user to quickly locate information, then pin the articles they need and arrange them on their desktop for greatest efficiency."
