TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 5, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The public is invited to join Kona Grill at its MetWest Plaza location Nov. 11 for an outdoor extravaganza to celebrate the restaurant's one-year anniversary in Tampa and the unveiling of its new sushi roll, "The Spartan."
The event will include an open bar, live music, body sushi, award-winning menu items and be attended by University of Tampa administrators as well as other distinguished guests.
"We're celebrating one year in Tampa with a party for hundreds of our friends so all of Tampa can have as much fun at Kona Grill as Kona Grill is having in Tampa," said Marc Buehler, CEO of Kona Grill.
Amongst Kona Grill's exciting and nationally renowned sushi presentations, new american cuisine and pizza, the open-bar mood will be set by signature cocktails such as the Strawberry Basil Lemonade, the Blushing Geisha and the Skinny CoolCumber Mojito, which has less than 115 calories.
The contents of the new Spartan Roll, named for UT's iconic mascot, will remain a closely guarded secret until Kona Grill's newest menu item is unveiled at the event.

Kona Grill will be giving back to the University of Tampa's entrepreneurship program by donating a portion of the proceeds of each Spartan Roll sold at the MetWest location across from The International mall.
The event will run from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at 4134 West Boy Scout Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33607. Tickets may be purchased at the advanced rate of $30 by stopping into Kona Grill or by emailing tickets@konagrill.com.
