Lago Dourado Reports That Magnetic And Radiometric Anomalies Reconcile With Known Gold-In-Soil Anomalies

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 19, 2011) - Lago Dourado Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:LDM) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that the airborne magnetic and radiometric survey completed at its flagship Juruena property located in Mato Grosso, Brazil, has identified multiple magnetic lineaments and radiometric anomalies that coincide with gold-in-soil anomalies (see Figures 1-3 attached). The two main regions of interest identified by the survey are the Core Area, where the majority of artisanal mining has occurred, and the recently discovered gold-in-soil anomaly directly south of the Core Area (the company has labelled this zone Noventa Graus).

Core Area - In the Core Area of the property high Thorium and minor Potassium anomalies are evident in conjunction with gold-in-soil anomalies and artisanal workings. This suggests a mix of alterations, including chloritization, sericitization and silicification, are associated with the gold mineralization in this area. The known mineralization zones in this area also coincide with the contact zones of the interpreted magnetic bodies. The contact zone in the north of the Core Area extends for at least 2km and is parallel to the regional mineralized trend.

Noventa Graus – the radiometric survey identified relatively high potassic anomalies trending north-west for several kilometres at Noventa Graus. The potassic anomalies are also consistent with the gold-in soil anomalies found along this trend suggesting potassic alteration could be related to the gold mineralization in this area. A large section of the gold-in-soil anomaly at Noventa Graus also lies along the contact zone between two of the main magnetic regions identified by the survey.

"We are very excited that the geophysics results appear to reconcile with the geochemistry anomalies outlined by previously completed soil sampling programs," said Forbes Gemmell, Lago Dourado's President and Chief Executive Officer. "This has helped identify numerous highly prospective zones that we plan to target in 2011 through a systematic drill program." The company currently has one drill rig turning in the Core Area of the property with a second drill rig expected to arrive by the end of the first quarter of 2011.
