First order in North America for Sectra MicroDose Mammography

First order in North America for Sectra MicroDose Mammography

The women of Canada will soon benefit from low-dose mammography.
Trillium Radiology Associates, which operates private diagnostic imaging
facilities in Toronto and Mississauga, has invested in four digital
mammography systems from the IT and medical technology company Sectra.
The system was sold by Xtron Imaging Inc., Sectra's new distribution
partner for Canada.

Using Sectra's mammography system, Sectra MicroDose Mammography, four of
Trillium Imaging Associates' clinics will be able to offer women
mammography examinations with the lowest possible radiation dose.

Canada is a large healthcare market. Today, most of the mammography
systems in Canada are analog and there is growing demand for digital
mammography systems.

“This is a strategic order for us as it is the first in North America.
It will serve as an important reference for all of North America as well
as being a first step into the highly quality-oriented Canadian
healthcare market, in which women are very aware of their rights and
well-being,” says Jesper Söderqvist, President of Sectra's mammography
operations.

Patient dose is high on the agenda in the radiology community. With its
superior image quality, Sectra MicroDose Mammography  generates by far
the lowest dose of radiation of all of the systems offered in the
market. Already today, Sectra MicroDose contributes to reducing
radiation doses in 18 European countries, as well as in Australia, New
Zealand and Japan. The Sectra MicroDose solution is used in all major
mammography screening programs in Europe.
