Government of Canada Grants $240,000 in Funding to Boiseries Architecturales Rageot for Productivity Enhancement Project

SAINT-GERMAIN-DE-GRANTHAM, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 18, 2011) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, today announced the awarding of $240,000 in repayable funding to Boiseries architecturales Rageot. Granted through the Business and Regional Growth program, this financial assistance will enable the firm to acquire specialized equipment and reconfigure its manufacturing cells. The company's project will necessitate an overall investment of $650,000.

"Canada Economic Development believes in the importance of supporting enterprises in their efforts to improve competitiveness. Boiseries architecturales Rageot is a good example of one such company in that it has been working since 2006 to develop value-added manufacturing methods," explained Minister of State Lebel.

Boiseries architecturales Rageot is the only manufacturer in its class in Canada offering more than three million options for doors, in small runs and with extremely short delivery times. With the acquisition of this latest-generation technological equipment, the company will be able to reduce job set-up time by 45%, thereby ensuring it faster unit production and the ability to consolidate its leadership position in the industry and to explore new market opportunities.

The Business and Regional Growth program is aimed at helping enterprises improve their performance. Operating in a sector identified as a regional priority by Canada Economic Development in Centre-du-Québec, namely the materials processing sector (furniture and milled wood products), Boiseries architecturales Rageot is a prime example of a company firmly engaged in a process of ongoing productivity enhancement.
