INTL FCStone Announces Agenda, Speaker Lineup and Theme for 2011 Annual Outlook Conference

CHICAGO, April 14, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- INTL FCStone Inc. (Nasdaq:INTL) today announced the agenda, speaker lineup and theme for its eighth annual Outlook Conference, to be held June 15 and 16 in Chicago.

The conference, previously known as the FCStone/Downes-O'Neill Outlook Conference, is designed to help producers, processors and end users of food commodities foresee global supply and demand issues and, in the process, help them prepare for and protect against the risks of price fluctuations.

The annual gathering has as its primary focus the global dairy industry, but also examines supply and demand factors influencing every major food-related commodity, as well as inputs and price influencers such as interest rates, energy, currencies, governmental legislation and regulations, and global weather patterns.

This year's theme is "The Most Important Subject on Earth," an acknowledgment of the critical importance of food, at a time when political and economic disruptions, rising energy prices and controversial new technologies are bringing food supply and demand issues to the forefront of the global agenda.

The continuing turmoil in the Middle East – exacerbated at least in part, according to many commentators, by food shortages and rising food prices in the region – will be addressed by the conference's keynote speaker, Shahar Arieli, Deputy Consul General of Israel to the Midwest. His keynote address will help conference attendees understand what's happening in the region, and how various scenarios are likely to affect food and energy prices in the months and years ahead.

The influential market analyst David Hightower, publisher of The Hightower Report, will present his global financial outlook. Hightower, who has been a market analyst for more than a quarter century, is a frequent guest on CNN and Bloomberg TV. David Oppendahl, an economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, also will offer a macroeconomic perspective on the U.S. and global economies.

Climatologist Drew Lerner, president and founder and senior agricultural meteorologist of World Weather, Inc., an international weather-forecasting firm, will return as a presenter for the fifth consecutive year.  In his past appearances, Lerner has provided attendees with long-range forecasts for growing seasons worldwide, and has offered insightful viewpoints on the climate change debate.

The conference will feature two major panel discussions, "New Developments in Global Risk Management," featuring representatives from the NZX, CME, Eurex and Euronext exchanges, and "The Dairy Legislative Outlook," featuring Edward Gallagher, President of Dairylea Cooperative and Dairy Farmers of America; Bob Yonkers, Vice President and Chief Economist of IDFA; and Tom Suber, President of USDEC.

INTL FCStone dairy economist Bill Brooks will present his widely followed dairy market outlook at the conference. Other presentations will cover the outlook for grains and oilseeds, soft commodities, meats and livestock, currencies, energy and interest rates.

The conference will be held in the heart of Chicago's financial district at 230 S. LaSalle Street (the corner of LaSalle and Jackson, across the street from the Chicago Board of Trade.) To register for the conference, or for more information, please visit http://www.intlfcstone.com/seminars/outlook/Pages/default.aspx or contact Kelly Czachor at kelly.czachor@fcstone.com (312-456-3624)
