Clean Energy Pathways Develops Unique Roof Mount for Solar Energy Retrofit at State-of-the-Art Fitness Center in Georgia

DOTHAN, Ala., May 10, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Clean Energy Pathways, Inc. (Pink Sheets:CPWY), a renewable energy solutions company, has completed a large solar retrofit and energy efficiency project at the IMAX Fitness Center in Columbus, Georgia, utilizing a unique mounting process. The retrofit consisted of three roof-mounted solar collector systems that produce hot water for the 30,000-sq-ft fitness center.

"Our retrofitting division, which is responsible for developing customized applications, came up with a unique system that allowed our engineer to mount solar collectors on a rubber-based roof without piercing the membrane," said J. Michael Parsons, CEO of Clean Energy Pathways. "This is a huge advantage because so many commercial buildings utilize rubber membrane roof systems, and it's a significant improvement over current technology. There are thousands of fitness centers in the United States that could benefit from solar retrofits, and it proves that we are able to develop tailored solutions to meet the needs of unique situations."

Tim Goodwin, Vice President of IMAX Fitness Centers, stated: "Clean Energy Pathways installed the systems without interrupting our operations, which is critical for our facilities. The company was able to install the panels without infringing on the warranty for our roof, utilized professional contractors, and worked within the electrical and plumbing codes. This retrofit is one of several identified in the energy audit that was performed, and all of the retrofits suggested were implemented. We estimate that we should see a return on our investment in one year. This was our first application for retrofitting and energy audits, and we plan to repeat this at many of our other locations, as well as recommend it to our clients for whom we consult. With the 30% Federal tax incentive and the expected 15% to 20% savings on our electric usage, this was an energy efficiency solution that we believed worthy of immediate implementation."

Mr. Goodwin and IMAX Fitness Centers have multiple centers and consult for hundreds of other fitness facilities throughout the United States. "I'm excited with the potential for all of our clients to follow this path to energy savings, because energy is one of our industry's largest expenses," Goodwin added.

Atlas Capital Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:ALCL) and Clean Energy Pathways, Inc. recently announced an agreement to merge the two companies and operate under the name of Clean Energy Pathways. That transaction is on track for completion in May 2011.
