LEMMINKÄINEN TO BUILD TWO NEW OFFICE BUILDINGS AT TÖÖLÖNLAHTI, HELSINKI
Lemminkäinen will build two new office buildings at Töölönlahti in downtown Helsinki. The client is Etera Mutual Pension Insurance Company. These new office buildings will have a total gross floor area of approx. 30,000 m², and Lemminkäinen's projects will total over EUR 100 million in value.
Construction work on houses located between the railway line and Finlandia Hall will begin in the spring of 2012. This will be completed by the spring of 2014. Architectural competitions for the new projects have been launched, with the results expected in the autumn.
As well as constructing the houses, Lemminkäinen will be responsible for leasing the finished premises. One of the new houses has already been leased in full to KPMG Oy Ab and negotiations are underway on the future occupants of the other. The sale of the new plots by Senate Properties to Etera Mutual is subject to parliamentary approval.
In May 2010, Lemminkäinen announced that it would build an office building for Etera in the same area. The principal tenant of that building will be Alma Media Oyj. The Alma Media office building, to be completed in 2012, was designed by JKMM Architects and construction began in the spring of 2011.
