EnergySolutions on Team Awarded $417 Million Waste Management Contract at Department of Energy Facility


SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - Jun 6, 2011) - EnergySolutions (NYSE: ES) today announced that the Idaho Treatment Group LLC (ITG) has been awarded a four-year cleanup contract estimated at approximately $417 million. ITG is a joint venture comprising The Babcock & Wilcox Company, URS and EnergySolutions. ITG has pre-selected small business subcontractors which include Safety and Risk Analysis Consulting, Inc.; Strategic Management Solutions, LLC; Visionary Solutions, LLC; and Cabrera Services, Inc.

The contract includes managing and operating the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project (AMWTP) at DOE's Idaho Site. AMWTP's purpose is to safely process and disposition transuranic waste and mixed low-level waste at the Idaho Site's Transuranic Storage Area, while maintaining a fully operational facility.

ITG is preparing to assume operations at the site on or about August 1, 2011, under a contract that runs through September 30, 2015.
