Alfa Laval wins SEK 70 million energy efficiency order in Russia

Alfa Laval - a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and
fluid handling - has received an order for compact heat exchangers from
a refinery in Russia. The order value is about SEK 70 million and
delivery is scheduled for 2012.

The heat exchangers will be used in various steps of the refinery
process where crude oil is refined to high-quality products, such as
gasoline. By using Alfa Laval's compact heat exchangers it is possible
to reuse heat from one part of the process for preheating another,
resulting in a highly energy-efficient solution.

”Refineries use a lot of energy in their processes. Reusing heat has
therefore an immediate effect on their profitability. That is one of the
reasons why we continue to see a good demand for Alfa Laval's
energy-efficient solutions”, says Lars Renström, President and CEO of

Alfa Laval's compact heat exchangers can recover up to 95 percent of the
heat that otherwise would be wasted, representing an efficiency increase
of slightly more than 40 percent compared with competing shell-and-tube
technology.
