Trius Therapeutics Gains Membership in the Russell 2000(R) Index


SAN DIEGO, June 28, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Trius Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq:TSRX), a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of innovative antibiotics for life-threatening infections, today announced that the Company was added to the Russell 2000® Index at the close of market on June 24, 2011 as part of the annual reconstitution of Russell indexes.

The Russell 2000® Index measures the performance of the small-cap segment of the U.S. equity universe. The Russell 2000® Index is a subset of the Russell 3000® Index representing approximately 8% of the total market capitalization of that index. Members of the Russell 2000® Index are also included in the Russell Global Index. These indexes are reconstituted annually in June and are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for passive and active investment strategies.
