Former U.S. Navy SEAL Becomes Graduate Gemologist and Opens His Own "Gemological Consulting and Appraisal Services"


AUSTIN, Texas, July 7, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- After serving as a U.S. Navy SEAL in 1986 Ralph Morgan decided to turn his passion for travel and science into a profession that joins the two "at the hip". He studied to become a Graduate Gemologist at the Gemological Institute of America then located in Santa Monica, California. Travelling the globe, over the course of the last 24 years Mr. Morgan searched Russia, Africa, South America and Central Asia for diamond, ruby, sapphire, emerald, tourmaline and fine natural pearls.

He has given lectures on numerous gem substances to diverse audiences to include the American Society of Appraisers, and other professional groups. He is also an expert on antique and estate jewelry from the Victorian period to the current day. He is a colorful speaker always eager to share his love of his profession. He is available for speaking engagements. He also offers portable gemological laboratory services at a client's office or bank.
