Staples, Inc. (SPLS), the world's largest office products company and a top retail destination for back to school, will visit the NASDAQ MarketSite in New York City's Times Square to declare July 12th as the official first day of the 2011 back-to-school shopping season.

For the fourth consecutive year, the company will open the NASDAQ market and sound the "First Bell" of the school supply shopping season to remind parents and students that Staples stores our fully stocked with a wide assortment of the newest products and latest technology at great prices.

In honor of the occasion, Demos Parneros, president of U.S. Stores for Staples, Inc., will preside over the NASDAQ Opening Bell.
