Salford Systems Presents Training Workshop for Its Integrated Data Mining Software

MIAMI, July 14, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For the first time since its release, Salford Systems will train analysts on the advanced and novel features of its Predictive Modeling Suite. An Introduction to SPM is one of the featured computer training workshops included at the 2011 Joint Statistical Meetings in Miami Beach, Fla.

Senior Scientist Mikhail Golovnya will educate attendees on advances in tree-based modeling tools, data mining, predictive analytics and modeling automation technology. Combining Salford's CART®, MARS®, TreeNet® and RandomForests® data mining engines into a single suite allows the analyst to easily check and compare the performance of different data approaches in order to select the best one. With unparalleled speed and accuracy, SPM provides both research and commercial users with the tools to solve complex predictive challenges.

"Modern data mining approaches like CART, TreeNet and RandomForests have completely eliminated the original burden of specifying model shape as seen in classical modeling," explains Golovnya. "This allows the analyst to focus on interpreting the results without wasting time and effort on seemingly useless configurations. Thus, more can be accomplished in one day than in the week or more required when using other systems."

The SPM training is one of four that Salford Systems will be presenting at JSM. The other workshops include interactive training on the individual products that culminated to produce SPM – CART, MARS, TreeNet and RandomForests. All workshops are being held at the Loews Hotel and Resort on Wednesday, Aug. 3. For the complete schedule of Salford's workshops visit booth 3 in the JSM exhibit hall.
