Hohenstein-Ernstthal, 21 July 2011 - In the latest update of its budget for
the overall 2011 financial year, Roth & Rau AG has lowered its expectations
for the second half of the year. This is due above all to the deterioration
in the overall industry climate, as well as to delays in the recognition of
sales and earnings for projects currently underway. Given the reduction in
demand for solar modules, some customers have reviewed their investment
projects intended to expand their production capacities and postponed the
agreed delivery dates. The downturn in the market has also impacted on the
order situation. The company received new orders worth around Euro 29
million in the second quarter of 2011. However, these were opposed by
cancellations of orders worth Euro 17 million.

Against this backdrop, the company expects to have generated a lower level
of consolidated sales and significantly negative EBIT in the first half of
2011. Furthermore, the company is withdrawing its forecast for 2011. The
company had previously expected to generate full-year consolidated sales of
between Euro 300 million and Euro 325 million with an EBIT margin in a
range of 4% to 7%.

Given the considerable uncertainty surrounding future market developments,
the company is currently not able to issue any reliable forecast for 2011.
