Golf Great Esteban Toledo to attend Canyon Acres' 26th Annual Par Fore Kids Golf Classic

PGA Sensation Offers Golf Clinic and Lends Support to Annual Fundraiser

ORANGE, Calif., July 26, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canyon Acres Children and Family Services, a Southern California charity organization committed to providing homes, care, treatment and supportive services for abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families, today announced that PGA golfer Esteban Toledo will attend the upcoming 26th Annual Par Fore Kids Golf Classic. Toledo will offer a golf clinic in the morning and will participate in the day's festivities. The event takes place Monday, August 15 at the Yorba Linda Country Club.

Toledo is best known for his meteoric rise as one of 11 children in a struggling Mexicali household to the elite fairways of the PGA tour. He is a longtime friend of children and serves as an ambassador to the Get a Grip Foundation, which aims to make golf and education available to every young person. Toledo is a distinguished philanthropist and has won the admiration of peers and the world at large for his ongoing generosity.

"Par Fore Kids is one of my favorite annual tournaments," said Toledo. "It's not just a fantastic day of golf with good food and prizes. There's also a community spirit and sense of dedication that make it an outstanding way to stand up for the children and families who need our help."

Par Fore Kids is one of Canyon Acres' largest annual fundraisers and is a favorite among celebrities, community leaders, agency supporters and volunteers who want to have an exciting day on the course and help children and families at the same time. In addition to Toledo's clinic, the event features 18 holes of championship golf, a live auction, contest holes, a 50/50 split-the-pot cash opportunity prize, a hole-in-one contest sponsored by Crevier BMW, breakfast, lunch, dinner and a special appearance by the Angel Strike Force Girls.

Platinum sponsors include Landsberg and PBS SoCal. Additional sponsors include Global Graphics and Schrader Associates.

"Canyon Acres is extremely grateful to welcome Toledo back for this year's Golf Classic," said Tom Sarnecki, Event Co-Chair and Canyon Acres Board Member. "His clinics and on-course participation with golfers distinguish this fundraiser, offering players an 'inside the ropes' experience with a PGA Professional! It's because of the commitment from dedicated patrons like Toledo that Canyon Acres is able to deliver on its mission of providing care, love and hope to the children and families in our community who need it most."
