CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 5, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Swisher Hygiene Inc. ("Swisher Hygiene") (Nasdaq:SWSH) (TSX:SWI), a leading provider of essential hygiene and sanitation products and services, today announced that it has acquired the assets and certain liabilities of Superior Products & Systems, LLC ("Superior"), a New York-based hygiene and chemicals company.
Superior covers the Upstate New York area and provides a complete range of specialty chemicals and service programs, mostly through distribution channels, to the foodservice and hospitality industries, including warewashing and on-premise laundries. Concurrent with the acquisition, Ed McGrath, the owner of Superior, will be joining Swisher Hygiene.
Swisher Hygiene is also pleased to announce the acquisition of the assets and certain liabilities of Chemical Services, LLC d/b/a MSF Chemical ("MSF"). MSF serves the greater Hartford, Connecticut market, also providing a complete range of warewashing specialty chemicals and service programs directly to the foodservice and hospitality industries. Michael Fienman, the owner of MSF, will be joining Swisher Hygiene.
Swisher Hygiene has also purchased certain assets and customers of H&H Products, Inc., Cleanmart, LLC and HRE, LLC, which are all primarily based in the Southeast.

Total consideration paid by Swisher Hygiene in connection with the acquisitions is $1,062,500 in cash.
