BANGKOK and ATLANTA, Aug. 8, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Global supply chain optimization provider, Manhattan Associates, Inc. (Nasdaq:MANH), today announced that Osotspa Co., Ltd, one of Thailand's leading beverage companies, has selected its logistics execution system, Manhattan SCALE™: Supply Chain Architected for Logistics Execution. The solution, which will be implemented at the company's 75,000 square foot central Distribution Centre (DC) in Bangkok, will form part of a network-wide rollout.
Although energy drinks account for 80 percent of Osotspa's entire product output, it also manufactures, markets and distributes consumer goods including food, pharmaceutical, personal care and hygiene products, packaging materials and fine chemicals. Some of the brands that Osotspa is best known for include M-150, M-MAX, MAGNUM 357 and Shark.
Osotspa wanted to introduce a technology solution that would help it compete more effectively in today's competitive trade environment, introduce operational best practice, and also improve inventory management and stock visibility.
"We have never before used any kind of warehouse management software to speak of. Our central DC in Bangkok has an extremely high storage density and although we use a basic computerised system to help locate pallets, the whole process is still highly manual," explained Amorn Sartamorn, assistant managing director at Osotspa Co., Ltd.
Fundamentally, Osotspa required a robust, flexible and scalable solution to support the day-to-day operation and management of its warehouse. A significant component of this included the ability to radically improve space utilization at the company's central DC to reduce overstocking and ensure product was no longer being damaged through poor warehouse management practices. In particular, the company wanted a tool that would optimize its replenishment, picking and shipping processes.
