Gordon Holmes To Keynote Silver Summit Banquet Oct. 20 in Spokane

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 16, 2011) - Cambridge House International is pleased to announce that Gordon Holmes, a co-founder of Investor's Business Daily and founder of numerous other financial publications, will keynote the Silver Summit's Silver Baron's Banquet 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Washington.

The two-day (Oct. 20-21) Silver Summit gathers together silver explorers, producers, investors and users from around the world at the Davenport Hotel.

Having sold his print publications, and having achieved financial independence working on Wall Street, Mr. Holmes became an ardent silver bug and remains publisher of The Gold Report. In 1988 he founded the Lookout Ridge Winery, located in the high country of the Mayacamas Mountains overlooking the Sonoma and and Napa Valleys. Lookout Ridge's first bottling was a critically acclaimed 2001 pinot noir.

Lookout Ridge red wines have gained world renown for their quality. Not content to rest on the winery's laurels, Mr. Holmes launched the Wine for Wheelchairs program out of proceeds from his winery to help victims of MS and other debilitating afflictions to regain mobility. His desire to help immobilized people grew out of his wife, Kari, contracting MS a decade ago.

Mr. Holmes gives a wheelchair away for every bottle of Lookout Ridge wine he sells.

"I'd always given to charity, but I never felt anything. Now, I give a wheelchair, and every time it changes my life," he said in a recent interview.

Holmes numbers among his friends and neighbours comedian Tommy Smothers, Apple Computer founder Steve Jobs, former Seattle Seahawks owner Ken Behring, and the CEOs of Sprint, Oracle, Intel and Radio Shack.

Among them, he says, "I am the strange guy. I don't care about normal stuff. None of them wants to know why they should buy gold and silver. I know what's going to happen to the dollar, and this economy. You do have people who have the insight into this but those are the rare groups."

Tickets to the Silver Baron's Banquet are $75 and may be obtained through Cambridge House International or by contacting the Silver Summit office at 208.556.1621.
