In a stagnant economic environment, median growth rate of 2011 Inc. 500|5000 companies remains an impressive 94 percent. CELL MARQUE is a leading supplier of tissue-based diagnostic tests using immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. These assays bind to and label specific proteins in tissue specimens using primary antibodies and enzyme-based visualization systems.   The IHC test is performed on a very thin tissue section mounted to a microscope slide.  The slide is then reviewed by a pathologist with a microscope to better and more accurately assess the patient's disease.  IHC tests are performed routinely by anatomic pathology laboratories in community hospitals, university medical centers, and reference labs around the world.
 

Methodology

The 2011 Inc. 500 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2007 to 2010. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2007. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent--not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies--as of December 31, 2010. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2007 is $100,000; the minimum for 2010 is $2 million.
