EDSI Named to the Inc. 500|5000 List for the Third Consecutive Year

Company Garners Other Awards for Excellence


Dearborn MI, Aug. 25, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DEARBORN, MI - Aug. 25, 2011 --For the third year running, Educational Data Systems, Inc. (EDSI), a workforce development and training company headquartered in Dearborn, MI, has been named to the Inc. magazine’s Inc. 500|5000 list of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies.

The Inc. 500|5000 list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy--America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. The company will be honored for this achievement at the Annual Inc. 500|5000 Conference and Awards Ceremony being held Sept. 22-24, 2011, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

  • This month the company was designated one of this year’s "Metropolitan Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For," an award that recognizes companies who acknowledge that employees are their greatest asset and work with conviction to create organizational value and business results through their people.
     
  • The company was recognized as one of the 2011’s "Cool Places to Work in Southeastern Michigan" by Crain’s Detroit Business in partnership with the American Society of Employers.
     
  • EDSI CEO Kevin Schnieders was named a semi-finalist in the 2011 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for the Michigan and NW Ohio region. The award encourages entrepreneurial activity among those with potential, and recognizes the contribution of people who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement.
     
  • The EDSI video, "Stepping Up To Fatherhood," recently earned a bronze Telly Award in the non-broadcast productions--social issues category. The video focused on its successful Pennsylvania Non-Custodial Parent Placement and Retention Program and the potential benefits for its Non-Custodial Parent clients.
     
  • The Association for Women in Communications has honored EDSI with a 2011 Clarion Award in the education category for the video, "Stepping Up to Fatherhood." EDSI will be recognized at the AWC National Conference in October.
     
  • EDSI was awarded a Certificate of Congressional Recognition from U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow for being named Outstanding Workforce Development Program by the Livingston County, Michigan Workforce Development Council.
