Rays of Sonshine Breaks Ground on the Final Site in the Sonshine Community of Hope


MONROE, La., Aug. 29, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Please join representatives of Rays of Sonshine on Thursday, September 1, 2011, as the organization commemorates the start of construction on its 10th and final site of the Sonshine Community of Hope project.

Rays of Sonshine is constructing 12 new homes, located on 10 sites in Monroe, Louisiana, for very low-income residents. The homes will provide permanent and permanent supportive housing for the chronically homeless, as well as very low-income individuals and families.

The project received a $120,000 Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant in 2010 from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and Community Trust Bank (an FHLB Dallas member institution).

Representatives of each of the organizations will be available for interviews before and after the event. A van-facilitated tour of the sites will follow the ceremony.
