FALLS CHURCH, Va., Sept. 19, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced today that it has appointed Douglas P. Larsen assistant general counsel for Government Contracts and Government Relations, effective October 3, 2011. Larsen will report to Sheila C. Cheston, corporate vice president and general counsel.

As assistant general counsel, Larsen will lead the company's legal team in the areas of government contracts and government relations. He will serve as a partner with and provide broad-based counsel to the company leadership in those functions. Larsen will also provide legal counsel to the Employees of Northrop Grumman Political Action Committee.
Larsen joins Northrop Grumman from his most recent position as general counsel for the Fluor Government Group. Previously, Larsen served in the U.S. Government for more than 25 years. Most recently he served as deputy general counsel, acquisition and logistics, for the U.S. Department of Defense. He also served in the Office of the General Counsel of the Navy, and on active duty in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps. He has taught as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Virginia.
Larsen has received numerous U.S. Government honors, including the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service with Bronze Palm, and the Presidential Rank Distinguished Executive Award.
