Fisher Investments Wins Top Projects Award

Fisher Creek Campus Earns Top Projects Designation by Vancouver Business Journal

VANCOUVER, Wash., Sept. 21, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Vancouver Business Journal recently announced Fisher Investments' new Fisher Creek Campus as the winner of its 2011 Top Projects award. The award, which is co-sponsored by the Southwest Washington Contractors Association and the Building Industry Association of Clark County, went to Fisher over five other major commercial projects that also broke ground during the same time period.

The first structure of the Fisher Creek Campus, Building A, is a state-of-the-art office building that sits on a 250-acre site set back and protected from public view. It will be the new home to Fisher Investments employees currently working in three smaller satellite offices in Vancouver. Completion of the project later this fall will bring the firm's Washington employees together for the first time since relocation efforts began in early 2007.

It was the way the developers worked with the natural characteristics of the environment that set the project apart from others considered for the award, according to the Top Projects Magazine. Developers were able to use and enhance existing amenities on the site, thereby reducing costs associated with construction while still meeting city ordinances. Landscaping with native plants and utilizing bioswales are just two examples of the tactics used in the development.

"The vision for the area is a very natural type of office park that is as green as possible," stated Olson Engineering Principal Peter Tuck, who served as civil engineer on the project.
