TOM TAILOR expands into Poland
- 6 retail stores to open in Poland by end of 2011
- Focus on shopping centres with high footfall
Hamburg, 28.09.2011 - The lifestyle company TOM TAILOR is expanding its
presence in Eastern Europe and moving into the Polish market. The first TOM
TAILOR retail store opens its doors in Szczecin today. By the end of the
year TOM TAILOR will open another five stores and establish its two brand
concepts TOM TAILOR Casual and TOM TAILOR Denim on the Polish market.
'With our expansion into Poland we are entering into a highly attractive
new market. Poland not only has the largest population in Eastern Europe,
it also has a robust economy and a healthy consumer climate,' says Dieter
Holzer, Chairman of the Management Board (CEO) of the TOM TAILOR Group. 'We
see great medium-term growth potential in Poland. Polish consumers have a
strong fashion sense and our TOM TAILOR brand is already well known and
popular thanks to the proximity of the Polish market to Germany. We are
therefore planning to open further stores in 2012 and are convinced that we
will be able to develop our retail, and with it also our wholesale business
in Poland and establish a good base for our further expansion in
North-Eastern Europe.'
TOM TAILOR will be concentrating on shopping centres with high footfall,
high revenues per square meter and attractive rents as it moves into the
Polish market. By the end of 2011 another five retail stores will be opened
in shopping centres in Gliwice, Krakow, Poznan and Wroclaw.
TOM TAILOR currently operates a total of 66 stores in Eastern Europe.
