Trident and LG CNS Announce Commercial Android STB Deployment

South Korean Service Provider is the First Operator to Deploy Android-Based Hybrid IP STB


SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 28, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Trident Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq:TRID), a leading provider of set-top box (STB) and TV semiconductor solutions, today announced that GBN, a South Korean cable services operator, began commercial deployment of Trident-based hybrid Cable STBs to their cable service subscribers in South Korea. LG CNS is the service infrastructure provider for GBN and developed the complete end-to-end Android STB software for the Trident solution.
