Ecosphere Delivers First Ozonix EF80 and Receives Order for Units 3 and 4

Third Quarter Revenue Will Include Recognition of More Than 5 Million Dollars in Manufacturing and Licensing Fees

STUART, Fla., Sept. 29, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ecosphere Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:ESPH), a diversified water engineering, technology licensing and environmental services company, today announced that is has received the purchase order for two additional Ozonix EF80 units from Hydrozonix, LLC, to be delivered in the fourth quarter. This purchase order request follows the successful completion of a 30-day testing period that took place in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, where the first EF80 had to pass a series of electrical and mechanical equipment testing procedures as well as laboratory tests for microbial control. Finalizing the acceptance period, the Ozonix EF80 unit performed 24/7 operations in the Eagle Ford Shale on a 26-stage, multi-well fracturing job that Hydrozonix completed for a major energy company operating in South Texas.

Robbie Cathey, CEO of Ecosphere Energy Services, LLC, a majority owned subsidiary of Ecosphere Technologies, stated, "The EF80's performance during the recent frac in Texas was remarkable. We processed over 9,000,000 gallons of fluid over a seven-day time period with zero equipment downtime. Most importantly, we allowed the energy customer to eliminate the use of liquid chemical biocides from their hydraulic fracturing operations with just one, mobile piece of equipment. The EF80's ability to eliminate bacteria from surface or flowback waters for use in fracturing wells is unmatched in the industry. We have tested our EF80 on some very challenging waters and the results have been outstanding. We are truly excited to have delivered to our customer the finest high production, mobile water treatment system available to the oil and gas industry at competitive and cost effective prices."

Aaron Horn, President of Hydrozonix, stated, "We are very pleased with how the Ecosphere Ozonix EF80 has operated in the field. Hydrozonix was able to use Ecosphere's new EF80 unit to process all of the water required for our customer's 26 stage, multi-well fracturing job in real-time. This is an important milestone for Hydrozonix and Ecosphere to be able to use just one piece of equipment to help eliminate chemical biocides from our customer's hydraulic fracturing operations."

Charles Vinick, Chairman and CEO of Ecosphere Technologies, stated, "The successful operation and acceptance of the Ozonix EF80 is a testament to our EES field operations and the quality of our ETI manufacturing and support capabilities. With this new order for the next two EF80's, we are now seeing the benefits of the Hydrozonix sub-license that we announced in the Spring and the business plan that we have put in place. Our teams have built and serviced a world-class product to allow our Hydrozonix customer to experience 100 percent uptime during their recent operations. The second Ozonix EF80 has also passed our manufacturing testing procedures, will be deploying to the field this week for final certification, and will then join the first unit in commercial operations."

Third Quarter Revenue

Mr. Vinick continued, "As a result of these events, for the quarter ending September 30, 2011, in addition to our service business revenue, we will recognize over $5 million from the manufacturing and licensing fees for these first two EF80 Units."

Ecosphere has been operating its patented Ozonix technology in the oil and natural gas industry since 2008. During this period, Ecosphere's energy customers have been able to recycle and reuse over 900,000,000 gallons of fluid on more than 375 natural gas wells in major U.S. shale plays. Ecosphere's latest product, the Ozonix EF80 is capable of processing flow rates up to 80 barrels per minute (3,360 gallons per minute) or up to 4,800,000 gallons of water per day.
