Photo Release -- Insomniac Donates $10,000 to the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra Music Education Program "Musicians in the Schools"

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., Oct. 2, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As part of its continuing commitment to give back to the communities in which it operates, Insomniac's CEO, Pasquale Rotella, presented a $10,000 donation to the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra's non-profit music education program, "Musicians in the Schools" on behalf of Insomniac at the Symphony's 2011/2012 season opening concert.

Musicians in the Schools is a celebrated program that unites professional string, woodwind and brass musician ensembles with children in 4th and 5th grade classrooms for engaging standards-based music education. Musicians in the Schools promotes music appreciation and inspires students to become more musically involved through school-sponsored instrumental music programs.

"Music has been – and continues to be – an integral part of who I am. It's not only my business, but sharing it with others is my passion," said Insomniac founder and CEO, Pasquale Rotella. "I am hopeful that Insomniac's contribution will go a long way toward inspiring children's interest and involvement in the arts and music."

As part of Insomniac's Charitable Giving Initiative, which launched in 2011, Insomniac donates $1.00 for every ticket sold and $10 per guest list attendee to local and regional charities in support of the communities that host their events.

"I am excited to be an active participant in the local community, and remain involved year-round via our charitable activities. Insomniac is committed to maintaining our strong partnerships with local organizations by going beyond solely producing events a few times a year," added Rotella.

"The pairing of the Symphony and an electronic dance music festival producer may seem unlikely," said Symphony Board President, Mary Schnepp. "But Insomniac and the Symphony both share a love for music. This generous donation provides for one-third of the program's yearly budget and will allow thousands of students to experience music in a way they may have not had the chance to otherwise."

Insomniac has been producing shows in San Bernardino for more than 15 years, the most recent being the safe and successful Nocturnal Wonderland festival held at the National Orange Show Event Center (NOS) on September 23-24, 2011. Insomniac's next show in the region will be Insomniac's first ever Halloween festival, Escape from Wonderland, which will be held at the NOS on October 29. All festivals enforce a strict 18+ age restriction and zero-tolerance policy.

"I hope that this donation marks just the beginning of a very long and happy relationship between Insomniac and the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra," concluded Rotella.
