Independence Blue Cross to Present at Self Insurance Institute of America Conference

Sales SVP Linda Taylor to Represent the Insurance Carrier Perspective for Health Insurance Brokers

PHOENIX, Oct. 10, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Independence Blue Cross announced that its chief sales and marketing officer and senior vice president Linda Taylor will speak today with other industry leaders at the 31st annual Self Insurance Institute of America (SIIA) conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

"As the health care industry becomes more complex with health care reform, an economic recession, and other pressures that company decision makers face, this is a critical time for brokers and consultants to provide true consultative services to their customers to help them make the best health coverage choices for their businesses and their employees," said Linda Taylor. "I am eager to share my experience and knowledge with SIIA attendees so that together, we can better serve customers in finding the best health care solutions for their needs."

Taylor will represent the insurance carrier perspective as part of a panel discussion designed to include case studies and lessons learned by proven leaders from three different perspectives of health care insurance options: managing general agents (MGUs), third party administrators (TPAs), and insurance carriers. The panel is part of the conference's broker track of educational sessions and is scheduled for today at 1:45 p.m., MST.

The SIIA National Conference & Expo is the world's largest event focused on the self-insurance marketplace, and it attracts more than 1,600 attendees from across the United States and from countries around the world. Consistent with the theme of this year's conference — Innovation Shaping the Future of Self-Insurance — SIIA has assembled an impressive collection of speakers who will share expertise on the most innovative strategies to effectively manage all types of self-insured programs.

Separate educational tracks are offered in the areas of self-insured health plans, self-insured workers' compensation programs, alternative risk transfer, and international self-insurance strategies.
