ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 11, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SkyBuilt Power announced today that it had been selected to provide rapidly deployable renewable power stations to the U.S. Navy. SkyBuilt will be a subcontractor to CSC Applied Technology Group for NAVAIR's tracking systems under the SureTrak IDIQ. SkyBuilt's $2.1M contract will utilize SkyBuilt's expertise in advanced technology, rapidly deployable solar and wind power for the harshest environmental conditions on and off-grid, and will use solar and wind power to reduce or eliminate the need for fuel. These systems will reduce maintenance time and other operating costs and provide a more reliable solution than fuel-based systems.

About SkyBuilt Power. SkyBuilt is a leading product and systems integrator for rapidly deployable renewable energy solutions for military, intelligence, telecom, disaster relief, homeland security, sustainable economic development, USAID, DOE, and other markets. SkyBuilt provides end-to-end solutions from design and engineering to products, maintenance, and service.

SkyBuilt's solutions range from man-portable systems (SkyCase and SkyPAK solar blankets) to tactical trailers (SkyTrailer) and container-based (SkyStation) renewable power generation and mobile micro-grid efficiency solutions at the tactical edge (Mobile Tactical Microgrid). These systems can include solar and wind power generation, fuel cells, micro-hydro, energy storage, and backup generator options. They operate on or off-grid. Depending on the availability of sun and wind at a site, they can pay for themselves in months to a few years in operating cost savings, help the military cut fuel, logistics, and save lives from IED attacks on fuel convoys.

SkyBuilt also provides fast track contracting for government customers through its IDIQ, and Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) contract vehicles including the Consortium for Energy, Environment and Demilitarization (CEED). The products above are trademarks of SkyBuilt Power.
