Maragas Winery Reports 79% Yield Increase on Excelerite(R)-Treated Vine Rows

BEND, Ore., Oct. 18, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- U.S. Rare Earth Minerals, Inc., (OTCBB:USMN) today announced that D. J. Maragas Wine Company, a pioneer in the cultivation of European varietals, has reported significant grape yield increases after testing Excelerite natural minerals and nutrients in its vineyards and has and expanded its usage to its entire crop production.

"We began our Excelerite test in the summer of 2010 on the northern half of our vineyards," said Doug Maragas, chairman of the board of Oregon Wine Growers Association and founder of Maragas Wine Co., which specializes in pinots, muscats, Rieslings, and chardonnays in the high-desert region of Central Oregon. "Despite the late start that most farms got off to in 2011 - and with no special protection from weather, birds, or deer damage - the rows where we used Excelerite® yielded 122 lbs. of grapes (vitis vinifera). The untreated rows weighed in at only 68.5 lbs. Excelerite® increased our crop yields nearly 80 percent."
