HONOLULU, Oct. 25, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Do the mysterious workings of our own minds influence the origins as well as the healing of deadly diseases? Yes, says Hironobu Sunada, Ph.D., who was for many years a cancer researcher at the world-renowned Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Sunada, Tokyo, will present his findings at a seminar, "How Faith Cures Cancer - The Truth About its Cause, its Prevention and Healing" Nov. 3 in Honolulu. His presentation will explore the links between mind, body and spirit, and how treatment that addresses all these facets of a suffering individual can bring relief and even full healing.
Modern medical technology only battles the symptoms of disease in one's physical body, and while he emphatically advocates medical intervention, Dr. Sunada says this approach is only half the solution. He has helped guide numerous cancer patients to recovery by combining spiritual with scientific perspectives, and believes this method opens a new frontier of cancer treatment. Over the years, Dr. Sunada has seen first-hand the power of people's own minds in curing their cancers and causing documented tumors to disappear.

Born in Japan, Dr. Sunada earned his MD in Chemistry and Ph.D. in Medical Science from the Graduate School of Tokyo Medical and Dental University. He conducted a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at University of California San Diego Cancer Center, and then joined Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center as an associate researcher. His work has been cited in such prestigious medical textbooks as "Molecular Targeting in Oncology" and "Signaling Pathways in Squamous Cancers." He also conducted research at the National Cardiovascular Disease Center. Dr. Sunada served as Director of Happy Science Hawaii and is now a World Missionary Lecturer of Happy Science.
