Public Prosecutor's Office Hanau initiates investigation against Dr. Balz,
Board Member of Deutsche Telekom, for the suspicion of market manipulation

The Public Prosecutor's Office Hanau has initiated investigations against
Dr. Manfred Balz, Board member for Data Privacy, Legal Affairs and
Compliance of Deutsche Telekom AG.

According to the Public Prosecutor's Office Hanau, the allegation of fraud
against key players of Drillisch AG, spread by Dr. Balz on 7 November 2011
and the subsequent slump in the share prices of Drillisch AG, provides
grounds for the suspicion that Dr. Balz and other persons in charge at
Deutsche Telekom AG have violated the prohibition of market manipulation
(Sec. 20a WpHG (German Securities Trading Act).

As there exists special jurisdiction in the German Land Hesse for
prosecuting such crimes, the Public Prosecutor's Office Hanau referred the
investigation matter to the General Prosecutor's Office in Frankfurt am
Main for further referral. Drillisch AG's lawyers today received this
information from the Public Prosecutor's Office Hanau upon request.

Drillisch AG has so far not been asked to make a statement on the
allegations of Deutsche Telekom AG or the suspicion of market manipulation.

Drillisch AG asks that any inquiries be refrained from as the
investigations are still in progress.
