In January-September 2011, the net loss of LITGRID group reached LTL 12.6 million. The main cause of the loss was the fact that depreciation and amortisation expenses in the financial statements (LTL 99.7 million during the first nine months of 2011) are significantly higher than those calculated while adjusting the transmission tariff (LTL 40.3 million).

In 2011, LITGRID invested LTL 136.4 million. Most investments, LTL 92.1 million, or 67% of the total invested amount, were related to the implementation of the strategic projects NordBalt and LitPol Link.

During January-September 2011 the special plan for LitPol Link was approved, an international public procurement of the technical project for the expansion of the Alytus transformer substation was announced, NordBalt marine test cable is being tested and the contractor for the Klaipėda-Telšiai power line construction project was selected. The investments into the reconstruction and development of the transmission grid reached LTL 44 million (32% of the total amount).
