Brightpoint Announces Appointment of Thomas Gancarz as Director of Global Security


INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 5, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brightpoint, Inc. (Nasdaq:CELL), a global leader in providing supply chain solutions to the wireless industry, today announced the appointment of Thomas Gancarz to the position of Director of Global Security, effective immediately.

In this position, Gancarz will be responsible for all aspects of the global security function, including the enhancement of security programs to guard against physical and cyber theft, fraud, vandalism, sabotage or other threats. Gancarz will report directly to Craig Carpenter, Brightpoint's Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary.

Gancarz comes to Brightpoint with more than 25 years of experience and leadership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he served as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the Indianapolis Division. In that role, Gancarz managed the Civil Rights, Criminal, Cyber, and White Collar Crime programs throughout the State of Indiana.  He also served as the Program Manager for Crisis Management.
