AEHI's Energy Neutral(R) Announces Final Home Sale in Advance of Franchise Rollout

BOISE, Idaho, Dec. 6, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. (Pink Sheets:AEHI) (www.aehipower.com) announced today that Energy Neutral(R), an AEHI subsidiary, has sold its final model home, which was built to demonstrate the effectiveness and economic benefits of building energy efficient homes and commercial buildings that also implement renewable power sources.

Energy Neutral built a total of six homes, all of which sold in a nine-month period, with a gross revenue of nearly $1.2 million ($1,193,650). The home sales even created a modest profit for the company in the middle of a down economy and at time when the homes were used primarily to demonstrate the Energy Neutral product and technology.

"We wanted to show that we could build affordable homes that would reduce power costs and in some cases even send additional power back to the grid. In the end, I think it also displays a tremendous benefit to builders working in a down economy, since we were able to sell every Energy Neutral home in less than a year, while many other new homes on the market still remain vacant," said Don Gillispie, AEHI CEO.

Company research shows that a fully-equipped Energy Neutral home may actually pay for itself over the course of a 30-year loan based on increasing power rates and the amount of power each home produces.

Energy Neutral has also been working very diligently on rolling out franchise opportunities, which were delayed by lengthy legal issues involving franchise development. The company will likely announce franchise availability later this quarter. The offering will create separate opportunities for builders and home service providers, which should help to expand the Energy Neutral footprint into new builds and existing construction.

AEHI subsidiaries Green World Water(TM) and Idaho Energy Complex continue to forge ahead. Green World Water is currently in discussions with countries mainly in Africa and the Middle East regarding the company's nuclear desalination systems. In June, Idaho Energy Complex finished the local approval process to build a nuclear power plant in Payette County, Idaho and is currently working with ENERCON to begin the federal approval process (COLA), which is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2012.
