ThinkGeek Drums Up Major Advancement in Interactive Apparel

The Electronic Drum Machine Shirt is the Latest in ThinkGeek's Highly Successful Line of Interactive Shirts

FAIRFAX, Va., Dec. 14, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ThinkGeek is proud to announce the release of the newest addition to its interactive apparel line: the Electronic Drum Machine Shirt. Following in the footsteps of the widely popular Electronic Rock Guitar Shirt and Electronic Music Synthesizer Shirt, the Electronic Drum Machine Shirt features several advancements in interactive musical apparel, including the option to record and play back loops. It's like having a Garage Band right on your chest!

Built around the concept of a classic drum machine, the Electronic Drum Machine Shirt houses a number of different sound kits to allow even novice musicians to create exciting beats and songs. The shirt's drum console consists of 7 effects pads and each pad plays a different sound. There are 9 built-in drum kits: Rock Drums, Retro 808, Discotek, Techno Punk, Classic Jazz, Base Invaderz, Chiptune, Zapf Dingbeats, and Scratchy. The shirt also features a pad that will let you cycle through the different kits to find the desired sound.

The built-in amp is Rock Star Loud, which means it can be cranked all the way up to 11! The amp also features a record button, which is used to build loops for accompaniment to freestyle jamming.

To showcase the shirt, ThinkGeek teamed up with MC Lars, originator of post-punk laptop rap and CEO of Horris Records to create a video that demonstrates the musical potential of the Drum Machine Shirt. View the video.

"We worked very hard to create a product that was exciting for beginners and experts alike," said Ty Liotta, head of ThinkGeek's GeekLabs custom products development group. "Teaming up with Lars was amazing and we think that his performance really demonstrates the value and the fun customers can expect from this new product."

The ThinkGeek Electronic Drum Shirt is available now for $29.99 at ThinkGeek.com. For more information on this or any of our electronic shirts, contact Jessica Darrican at 305-576-1171 x.16 or Jessica@maxborgesagency.com.
