Covisint, a Compuware Company, Helps Intermountain Submit PQRS Quality Reports and Receive Nearly $1 Million in Government Incentive Payments

DETROIT, Dec. 14, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Covisint, a Compuware (Nasdaq:CPWR) company, today announced that it is helping Intermountain Healthcare, an internationally recognized nonprofit health system based in Salt Lake City, to earn nearly $1 million in PQRS incentives granted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) for PQRS.

"Quality of patient care is very important to us, and Covisint enabled us to submit our data to CMS on time," said Mike Weed, chief financial officer for the Intermountain Medical Group. "We submitted PQRS data through Covisint to validate the quality of care we deliver, and the large incentive we've received only serves to validate how well we've delivered on that promise. Covisint has been an outstanding partner, listening to us, helping us engage system-wide and delivering on our needs."

Intermountain, according to Modern Healthcare, ranks fourth among the nation's top 100 healthcare systems and is consistently ranked nationally as one of the nation's leading systems. Covisint processed already existing information on more than 700 Intermountain healthcare providers in this system-wide PQRS quality and reimbursement effort.

Covisint, which has led the nation for two years in helping healthcare providers and systems obtain these incentives, is accepting 2012 PQRS submissions at http://www.covisint.com/web/guest/healthcare/docsitepqri. The PQRS process enables physicians, physician practices and large healthcare systems to qualify for financial incentives by easily submitting specific quality data on Medicare Part B fee-for-service patients. Covisint also helps physician and care provider customers obtain Meaningful Use (MU) incentives via the Covisint DocSite solution.

"Technology works best when it serves the greatest good; in this case, helping Intermountain document its delivery of the best patient care possible while also helping it receive a nice reimbursement," said David McGuffie, Covisint president and COO. "Covisint took Intermountain's existing data, analyzed it and--without disrupting workflows--made the PQRS submission process easy, effective and efficient."
