Stadler Rail Group (Stadler) and Daugavpils Locomotive Repair Plant (DLRR) signed a letter of intent today about working together in railway development projects in Latvia in 2012.


Stadler Rail Group (Stadler) and Daugavpils Locomotive Repair Plant (DLRR) have signed a letter of intent today about working together in railway development projects in Latvia in 2012. In the letter of intent Stadler and DLRR expressed their will to exclusively cooperate in any tender for the procurement of electric and diesel multiple units in Latvia. The scope of possible cooperation in case of such a project would target the areas of manufacturing, final assembly, maintenance, service, after sales activities, as well as commissioning and testing of trains.

 About Daugavpils Locomotive Repair Plant

Joint- Stock-Company "DLRR" is the biggest company in Baltic states which overhauls and modernizes rolling stock, including freight locomotives, passenger locomotives, shunting locomotives, diesel and electric multiple units, and manufactures spare parts. DLRR provides an overhaul with prolongation of service life and overhaul with improvement of interior of electric train ER2 and ER9. Company also produces spare parts for railway transport. The company was founded in 1866 as base of steam locomotive repair workshops. In 1965 the plant was redesigned for overhaul of diesel locomotives. The specialists of company increase constantly range of products produced using the most modern technologies and materials. The estimated sales turnover in year 2011 25 MEUR (incl. export 19 MEUR). DLRR employs over 1000 employees. Investments held in year 2011 over 5 MEUR.
