Brightpoint and RIM Expand Supply Chain Services of BlackBerry(R) Products in Bosnia, Albania, Macedonia and Serbia


INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 20, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brightpoint, Inc. (Nasdaq:CELL), a global leader in providing supply chain solutions to the wireless industry, today announced that its subsidiary Brightpoint Slovakia s.r.o. ("Brightpoint") and Research In Motion Limited (Nasdaq:RIMM) ("RIM") have entered into a preferred distribution agreement to expand the availability of BlackBerry® smartphones and software in Bosnia, Albania, Macedonia and Serbia ("BAMS").

Under the terms of the agreement, Brightpoint will act as RIM's preferred fulfillment partner in the BAMS region and assist in the national distribution of BlackBerry products through Brightpoint's expansive authorized local partners' network. Leveraging its global operations and strong local presence, Brightpoint will deliver distribution and reverse logistics services to telecommunications operators, retailers, and authorized resellers in the BAMS region.
