On Nov. 28, Northrop Grumman employees donated supplies and assembled holiday care packages for deployed U.S. troops during an "Adopt a Soldier" event. Nearly 50 employees packed 45 boxes with personal items such as toiletries, snacks, books and crossword puzzles to show appreciation for service men and women during the holidays. Employees from the company's Supply Chain department led the effort with help from a company-sponsored employee resource group that assists active-duty troops and veterans through community outreach programs.

Additionally, Northrop Grumman's African-American Task Group and Pride in Diversity Alliance employee resource groups recently provided holiday gifts to 16 families that are facing financial hardship. For the fourth year in a row, employees nominated families in need and donated gifts, including food, gas and gift cards, clothing, toys, and video games, from each family's "wish list." Several of the families are affiliated with the HerShe Group, a nonprofit organization that aims to help prepare adolescent girls in foster care transition to independence and adulthood through mentoring, leadership development and college/career preparation.

"We are proud of the generosity and community spirit displayed by Northrop Grumman employees all year, including during the holiday season," said Liz Iversen, sector vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman's Navigation Systems Division. "These initiatives exemplify the best of our company's emphasis on giving back to the communities where we live and work."

Northrop Grumman employees also donated gifts to more than 130 children through an Angel Tree program, which is intended to brighten the holidays for children who might not receive gifts otherwise. Employees provided gifts for children after choosing angel-themed ornaments that listed different recipients' special wishes.
