The Angara's SPD-Smart skylight is made with polycarbonate substrates and measures 90 x 60 cm (35.4 x 23.6 inches), the predominant size of motorhome skylights offered in Europe. In addition to providing natural daylighting, variable shading and thermal comfort, the skylight is operable and can be opened to provide ventilation. A control system supplied by Vision Systems regulates the tint of the SPD-Smart skylight, which offers a wide range of light transmission from clear to very dark.

The Heki brand of skylight from Dometic is used on the Angara. Dometic is a leading supplier of skylights for the motorhome market with products sold in nearly 100 countries. Final assembly of the Angara's skylight with SPD-Smart technology is done by Vision Systems.

"We are very pleased that Notin has selected our SPD-Smart Nuance product for the Angara motorhome's skylight," commented Carl Putman, CEO of Vision Systems. "This skylight is innovative and functional, and is a wonderful complement to the many fine features of the Angara. It marks the first worldwide application of SPD-Smart Nuance for a production motorhome."

The SPD-equipped Angara from Notin was first presented in October 2011 at the 46th Salon de Vehicules de Loisirs exhibition in Paris, France. SPD-Smart light-control technology offers a more comfortable and energy efficient alternative to conventional skylights and window shades of motorhomes. With Vision Systems' SPD-Smart Nuance skylight, the motorhome operator can instantly and uniformly control the level of light, glare and heat entering the Angara's interior.

Established in 1921, Notin Camping-Cars is a manufacturer of premium motorhomes that exhibit exceptional comfort, safety and efficiency. More details are available on the company's website.

Vision Systems' SPD-Smart Nuance and Noctis windows offer instant and precise light-control at every level which provides original equipment manufacturers and private vehicle operators with a solar protection solution that enhances comfort and supports fuel efficiency. These electronically dimmable windows, roof shades and partitions are impact-resistant, completely silent, available in flat and curved surfaces, and can be controlled automatically or by passengers.
