Ad-hoc release pursuant to section 15 WpHG
Anticipated revenues of EUR 702.7 million for the fiscal year 2010/11 show
that the impressive success story of GERRY WEBER continues
- Revenues climb 13.0% to EUR 702.7 million in 2010/11; EBIT margin rises
to 14.2%
- Growth to continue even after targets have been reached - revenues to
climb to EUR 775 million in 2011/12

(Halle/Westphalia, 17 January 2012) According to preliminary figures, GERRY
WEBER International AG (WKN: 330410) expects sales revenues of EUR 702.7
million for the past financial year 2010/11 (previous year: EUR 621.9
million), which marks yet another record for the company. In spite of
extensive investments in the expansion of the company's own Retail segment,
earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased by an impressive 19.6%
to EUR 99.6 million (previous year: EUR 83.3 million). This represents an
EBIT margin of 14.2%. The fact that the projected EUR 700 million mark was
exceeded and the 14.2% EBIT mean that GERRY WEBER International AG once
again achieved the targets it had set itself for the past financial year
2010/11.
Retail
With sales revenues rising by 25.1% to EUR 217.2 million (previous year:
EUR 173.6 million), the Retail segment once again was a key growth driver
for the company. The sharp increase is attributable to both the opening of
64 company-managed Houses of GERRY WEBER and to a 7.7% rise in
like-for-like sales.
Forecast for 2011/12
The Managing Board of GERRY WEBER International AG expects sales revenues
to surge to EUR 775 million in the financial year 2011/12 which would again
represent a double-digit percentage increase . Earnings are also expected
to improve further. The company projects an improvement in the EBIT margin
to 14.8% for the current financial year. As in the previous years, the
Retail activities will again be an important sales and earnings driver. The
company plans to open 75-85 new company-managed Houses of GERRY WEBER
worldwide, about half of them outside Germany. In the previous year
2010/11 overall 64 company-managed Houses of GERRY WEBER were opened in
Germany and abroad.
The cooperation with wholesale customers will also be intensified in
2011/2012, with the number of shop-in-shops expected to increase by 200 to
roughly 2,500. The first shop-in-shops are to be opened at Bloomingdale's,
USA, already in the coming weeks.
The final figures for the financial year 2010/11 will be published on the
occasion of the annual accounts press conference in Düsseldorf on 27
February 2012.
