On January 16, 2012, Ameriprise Financial, Inc., Minneapolis, USA, has
informed us according to Article 21, Section 1 of the WpHG that its
proportion of voting rights on Brenntag AG, Stinnes-Platz 1, 45472 Mülheim
an der Ruhr, Deutschland, has exceeded the 3% threshold of the voting
rights on January 10, 2012 and on that day amounted to 3.07% (this
corresponds to 1,579,224 voting rights). According to Article 22, Section
1, Sentence 1, No. 6 in connection with sentence 2 of the WpHG, 3.07% of
the voting rights (this corresponds to 1,579,224 voting rights) is to be
attributed to the company, whereof in turn 0.02% (this corresponds to 8,020
voting rights) is to be attributed according to Article 22, Section 1,
Sentence 1, No. 1 of the WpHG.
