New Deal Names Cardtronics as Exclusive Provider of ATM Services for Valero Corner Stores; Adds More Than 950 Cash Machines to Cardtronics' Fleet of Brand-Able ATMs

HOUSTON, Feb. 2, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cardtronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:CATM), the world's largest retail ATM owner, today announced a long-term agreement with San Antonio-based Valero Retail Holdings, Inc., a division of Valero Energy Corp. — naming Cardtronics the exclusive provider of ATM services for Valero's entire U.S. portfolio of company operated convenience stores, predominantly branded Valero Corner Stores. The newly-formed relationship with Valero adds more than 950 cash machines to Cardtronics' fleet of brand-able ATMs, and includes expansion rights for future stores.

As part of an exclusive relationship, Cardtronics will install and operate more than 950 new Cardtronics-owned ATMs at Valero Corner Stores located in Arizona, California, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming. All Valero company operated stores will be converted to Cardtronics ATM services in the first half of 2012, including the more than 600 stores located in Texas.

Cardtronics' new portfolio of Valero-located ATMs are immediately available to banks and credit unions interested in elevating brand awareness and surcharge-free account access by way of Cardtronics' ATM Branding program.

"Valero Corner Stores' reputation for fast, friendly service in clean, well-lit stores meshes perfectly with Cardtronics' criteria for ATM placements," said Rick Updyke, president, U.S. Business Group, Cardtronics. "As a direct result of Cardtronics carefully selecting well-regarded locations such as Valero Corner Stores, our ATMs play an important role in connecting consumers with their financial institutions, creating convenient cash access in destination retail locations."
